PROCESS
I rarely begin with a specific idea in mind or a goal of what I want to achieve; rather, each work evolves from a point in my subconscious. I start to draw and experiment with process and techniques, working intuitively as things develop. Each mark is intentional but automatic, predictable yet spontaneous. The finished works are abstract, but may often yield to familiar images, ideas and themes. I find that I become absorbed in the process of mark-making, whether this is by drawing, printing, cutting, deconstructing, or some other means - one mark leads to another and to another, until I am satisfied that my work is visually complete.
