Lucy Haque

I am an abstract artist living in west London. I draw, print, cut, sew, and deconstruct to make works on paper:- drawings, collages, and artist books.

My work evolves from the subconscious. I rarely being a piece with a specific idea in mind or a clear plan of what I want to achieve. Rather, I am seeking to capture the thoughts and feelings that occur in my subconscious; to represent the moments before an idea is formed or conceptualised.

I work intuitively - often my only goal is to become absorbed in the process of drawing itself. Once I have put pen to paper, I start to draw and experiment with process and techniques; one mark leads to another and to another, until I am satisfied that my work is visually complete.
